Program Title : Administrative Certification Program - School Principal
Offered By: University of the Cumberlands
Description: Course requirements for candidates seeking certification as a School Principal Level I consist of an eighteen hour program of studies. Candidates may elect to complete a thirty hour program leading to Rank I. Level II certification (for certificate renewal) requires an additional nine hours of course work.

The requirements for certification as a School Principal include the following:

(1) A master�s degree in education

(2) Qualification for a Kentucky classroom teaching certificate

(4) Kentucky candidates must pass the Kentucky Specialty Test of Instructional and Administration Practice.

(5) All candidates must pass the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA)

(6) A 3.0 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale

(7) A completed application including an official college/university transcript(s), 3 letters of recommendation and acceptance by the Graduate Admissions Committee

(8) The curriculum contract must be completed and approved by the Graduate Advisor, Director of Graduate Program and Registrar prior to exiting the program. The candidate must also complete a TC1 for Rank I status or certification.
